From governance documents to governance operations

A policy is not an operating system.

Many organisations already have principles, roles or checklists. What is missing is the operating logic that connects them: Which AI systems exist? How are they classified? Who decides? Which controls are triggered? What evidence must be available at any time?

1

Operating model gap

Roles are created before processes, decision rights, escalation paths and evidence requirements have been defined.

2

Classification gap

AI is introduced before intended purpose, legal role, risk pathway, transparency obligations and system changes have been properly assessed.

3

Evidence gap

Accountability is formally assigned, yet decisions, controls and system changes cannot later be reconstructed with confidence.

The AIGN OS logic No governance without classification. No accountability without reconstructable evidence. No defensible trust without a system that can show why an AI system was classified, controlled and monitored in a specific way.
The operational pathway

From organisational foundations to an operating AI governance system.

The application does not begin with an isolated questionnaire. It starts with the organisational foundation. Each relevant use case is then guided through a traceable sequence of classification, controls, evidence and release decisions.

1

Organisation Blueprint

Define scope, governance roles, responsibilities, regulatory touchpoints and the implementation framework.

2

AI Inventory & Migration

Register AI systems, shadow AI, vendors, agents and workflows, or migrate existing inventories from CSV, JSON and XLSX.

3

Regulatory Pathway

Assess AI-system qualification, prohibited practices, transparency, Annex I/III, GPAI, FRIA, roles and registration through a structured pathway.

4

Activate controls

Turn captured facts into applicable obligations, actions, risks, blockers, dependencies, owners and reviewers.

5

Evidence & decisions

Connect the Evidence Ledger, Control Operating Center, Decision Log, reviews, approvals, versions and hashes.

6

GovPass & operations

Produce board-ready outputs, exports, a roadmap, release decisions and continuous reclassification.

What the solution looks like

A guided workspace instead of a disconnected collection of tools.

Teams do not just see questions. They see what to do next, why a requirement was triggered, who is accountable and which evidence is still missing.

Next Best ActionA concrete next step derived from classification results, blockers and missing evidence.
Learning & guidance cardsExplain meaning, implementation steps and evidence requirements directly in the workflow.
Fail-closed logicUnknown is not treated as “no”. Unresolved facts remain subject to review.
Portfolio and system levelConnect the organisation, its AI portfolio and individual systems in one operating model.

The reference architecture becomes operational

Eight layers connect strategy, law, operations and evidence.

AIGN OS 4.0 is more than an architecture diagram. The Guided Installer translates every layer into questions, accountability, controls, evidence and operational outputs.

LAYER 1

Organizational Interface

Roles, RACI, board reporting, escalation and cross-functional accountability.

LAYER 2

Governance Kernel

Lifecycle logic, autonomy boundaries, approvals, reclassification and governance reflexes.

LAYER 3 · ENTRY GATE

Classification & Regulatory Pathway

Qualification, Prohibited AI Gate, transparency, high-risk classification, GPAI, FRIA, registration and roles.

LAYER 4

Compliance Engine

Translate applicable obligations into controls, processes, documentation and monitoring.

LAYER 5

Framework Modules

Sector, jurisdiction, agentic AI, critical-sector and management-system context.

LAYER 6

Governance Toolchain

Evidence Ledger, logs, reviews, templates, monitoring and incident records.

LAYER 7

Maturity & ASGR

Maturity, classification readiness, gaps and a prioritised implementation roadmap.

LAYER 8

Trust & Assurance

Structured assurance evidence, board readiness, audit readiness and trust dimensions.

What the application delivers

One connected workspace for AI governance.

From the first inventory to ongoing monitoring, facts, obligations, controls, decisions and evidence remain connected.

AI System Register

Portfolio overview, system facts, purpose, vendors, roles, status and lifecycle context.

Migration Hub

Import and validate existing inventories from CSV, JSON and XLSX without inventing missing legal facts.

Classification Engine

Tri-state, fail-closed routing for prohibited practices, transparency, high risk, GPAI and role shifts.

Obligation Graph

Connect applicability, legal status, source, owner, reviewer, controls and required evidence in one obligation graph.

Control Operating Center

Operate control status, ownership, frequency, deadlines, independent review and linked evidence.

Evidence Ledger

Record evidence with review status, validity, version, SHA-256 hash and separation between owner and reviewer.

Decision & Audit Log

Record decisions, rationale, approvals and changes in system-scoped tamper-evident audit chains.

GovPass & exports

Board evidence, roadmap, Evidence Forge, and JSON and CSV packages for downstream governance, DMS or audit processes.

Regulatory and standards interoperability

One architecture. Different obligations and contexts.

The solution connects the AIGN OS reference architecture with versioned regulatory logic. Binding law, standards, guidance and voluntary frameworks remain visibly distinct.

Beyond conventional AI governance

Agentic AI and critical sectors require operational boundaries.

When AI calls tools, changes systems, prioritises alerts or influences critical operations, a model description is not enough. AIGN OS extends governance to authority, action space, escalation and reconstructability.

Agentic AI Operating Controls

Governance for systems that can act

Action space, autonomy, agent identity, permissions, MCP and tool governance, human oversight, testing, deployment tiers, multi-agent risks, kill switch and post-market monitoring.

No accountable agentic AI without bounded action space, attributable identity and verifiable control effectiveness.
Critical Sectors Extension

Governance for critical impact

Criticality Gate, early-warning governance, regional data sharing, provenance, alert thresholds, escalation authority, false positives and negatives, drift, adversarial resilience and incident evidence.

Critical AI must be prepared not only for legal classification, but also for resilience, continuity and effective intervention.
What the organisation builds

Structured outputs for defensible AI governance.

AIGN OS does not generate a blanket compliance promise. It creates structured work and evidence objects that help an organisation establish, operate and improve governance in a traceable way.

Governance BlueprintTarget operating model, roles, scope, implementation logic and organisational prerequisites.
Classification Evidence BundleReasoned outputs from the complete classification and responsibility pathway.

Frequently asked questions

What to know before you start.

Is AIGN OS a conventional SaaS platform?

It is not a conventional multi-tenant governance dashboard. AIGN OS runs as a protected WordPress application, while the surrounding website, membership platform or SSO layer handles authentication, payment, subscription and entitlements.

Does the tool guarantee legal compliance?

No. AIGN OS structures facts, classification, obligations, controls, evidence and unresolved legal questions. It does not replace legal advice, regulatory approval, statutory conformity assessment or accredited certification.

Can existing AI inventories be migrated?

Yes. The Migration Hub supports CSV, JSON and, where the required PHP extensions are available, XLSX. Missing legal facts remain deliberately unresolved until reviewed.

Does AIGN OS support agentic AI governance?

Yes. The application includes dedicated governance logic for action space, autonomy, identity, permissions, tools and protocols, human oversight, testing, deployment tiers, kill switch and ongoing monitoring.

Which sectors is the solution designed for?

The architecture is cross-sector. The product contains 17 sector catalogues and additional operational overlays, including finance, insurance, HR, healthcare, education, public sector, manufacturing, technology, critical infrastructure and early warning.

Do we need an existing AI governance team?

No. AIGN OS is designed to help organisations establish roles, responsibilities and ways of working. Qualified legal, technical and assurance functions must still be involved in decisions that require their expertise.
